Louis is an avid Chinese calligraphy practitioner
for 20 years. He was born in Singapore and was
introduced to Chinese calligraphy by his mother
who taught him 楷书 when he was young.

During his school days in Tuan Mong High school 端
蒙中学(1981), he joined the Chinese Calligraphy
Society and learnt the art with Mr Chen Kwan Wei 曾广緯. He was later selected to participate in the National School Art Competition and attained
"Outstanding Award".

Since 1996, Louis started learning from Dr Khoon Seow Hua 邱 少 华 and practised Chinese Calligraphy - Running Script行书(1996) in the NUS Department of Extramural Studies.
 

After years of practice, his works had been conferred
"Outstanding Work" by the Singapore Art
Society and displayed in the Dr Tan Tsze Chor Art Awards & Exhibitions from 2015 to 2019. He also participated in the Nanyang Calligraphy
Exhibition in 2018.

Currently, he runs Chinese Calligraphy classes in
Brahm Centre and actively participates in the Singapore Art Movement. With time, his passion for this oriental art growth even stronger and he is keen to share his experiences with all Chinese art lovers.
